Az anyag leírása:

Kim Carnes was on the upswing in the early 80's starting with her cover of Smokey Robinson's "More Love" and a distinctive synthesizer sound that defined the production. Her warm and raspy voice provided an effective counterpoint to the smooth and lush electronic sounds that enveloped the songs. Donna Weiss and 60's recording star Jackie DeShannon, (Put A Little Love in Your Heart), wrote a honky tonk song tribute to Bette Davis. They sent it to Carnes producer at the time George Tobin (who would go on to produce Tiffany). Kim was not interested in the song and after she changed producers to Val Garay, Weiss sent her the song again. Bill Cuomo, the synthesizer player, came up with the new chords that cemented the commercial appeal of the song which was quickly completed and put on her "Mistaken Identity" LP. The appeal was astounding! It spent 9 weeks at #1, and lost one week to the Stars on 45 single, but returned to #1 the following week for another four weeks. The song was the #1 hit of all of 1981, won a double Grammy (Song and Record of the Year) and was #1 in 21 other countries. Talk about striking a chord with the masses!
